Tagging a Private Template When Updating

Add metadata to a private template when you update it. This metadata enables you to define keys and values and to associate them with resources.

    1. Open the navigation menu and click Developer Services. Under Resource Manager, click Private Templates.
    2. On the Private templates page, select the compartment that contains the private template that you want.
    3. Click the name of the private template that you want.
      The Template information page opens.
    4. To add a tag, click Add tags, and enter the tag namespace, key, and value.
    5. To view existing tags, click the Tags tab and then click Defined tags or Free-form tags.
    6. To edit an existing tag, click the edit icon, update the value in the Edit tag dialog box, and then click Save.
    7. To remove a tag, click the edit icon and then click Remove tag.
  • Use the oci resource-manager template update command and required parameters to tag a private template when you update it.

    oci resource-manager template update [--defined-tags | --freeform-tags] <tags> [...]
