Known Issues for Search
Known issues have been identified in Search.
Filter matching behavior is inconsistent
- Details
- In the resource explorer, depending on the filter, when you enter characters to search for a value, what gets returned and highlighted in results appears inconsistent. You might get values that don't appear to match what you provided. You might also get results with individual characters highlighted even if you specified a longer string of characters for matching purposes.

Resource type and status filters show values out of alphabetical order
- Details
- In the resource explorer, when you view the options in the Resource type and Status filters, the values listed aren't necessarily shown in alphabetical order.

Sorting by resource type or compartment isn't possible when you have over 100 results
- Details
- When a search for resources produces over 100 results, the resource explorer doesn't support sorting search results by either resource type or compartment.
- Workaround 1
- Perform a new search or query that produces fewer than 100 results.
- Workaround 2
- Use advanced query mode to write a query that includes language to sort by compartment. (Queries don't support sorting by resource type.)
Partial matching requires a minimum of three characters
- Details
- When searching for resources, if you provide fewer than three characters to the in-page search box, to the display name filter, or when using query language to match on any resource attribute through the
matching
clause, you get no results. - Workaround
- Provide at least three characters to Search to use when trying to find a match to free-form text.
Compartment filter value defaults to last active compartment selection
- Details
- In the resource explorer, when you open the compartment filter, the value defaults to the last compartment you set as the list scope anywhere in the Console. This value doesn't always correspond to the compartment value used to perform a search.
- Workaround
- This is by design. Select a new compartment from the list of options, if needed.
Filtering on the instance resource type extends results outside the list border
- Details
- In the resource explorer, if you filter by resource type and specify instances as the resource type, you get details about the results that extend beyond the border of the list.
- Workaround
- We're working on a resolution.
