Getting a Request Control Rule's Details for a Web Application Firewall Policy

View the details of an request control rule for a web application firewall policy.

Viewing Default Action Settings

View the default action settings of the request control to specify how access rules handle requests that don't match any rule defined in the WAF policy.

  1. Open the navigation menu and click Identity & Security. Under Web Application Firewall, click Policies.

    Alternatively, open the Web Application Firewall page and click Policies under Resources.

    The WAF Policies page appears.

  2. Select the Compartment from the list.

    All the WAF policies in that compartment are listed in tabular form.

  3. (Optional) Apply one or more of the following Filters to limit the WAF policies displayed:
    • State

    • Name

    • Policy Type: Select WAF policy.

  4. Select the WAF policy whose default action settings you want to view.
    The WAF Policy details dialog box appears.
  5. Click Access control under Resources.

    The Access control list appears.

  6. In the Request control tab, click Manage request control.

    The Default action settings dialog box appears.

The Default action settings dialog box displays information regarding the default action. These details include the action name and type, block response code, header information, and the response page body code. The response page body code decides the message returned to users with an access request that can't be met.

Getting the Details of an Access Rule for a Request Control

  1. Open the navigation menu and click Identity & Security. Under Web Application Firewall, click Policies.

    Alternatively, open the Web Application Firewall page and click Policies under Resources.

    The WAF Policies page appears.

  2. Select the Compartment from the list.

    All the WAF policies in that compartment are listed in tabular form.

  3. (Optional) Apply one or more of the following Filters to limit the WAF policies displayed:
    • State

    • Name

    • Policy Type: Select WAF policy.

  4. Select the WAF policy request control access rules details you want to get.
    The WAF Policy details dialog box appears.
  5. Click Access control under Resources.

    The Access control list appears.

  6. Select the Request control tab.
    A list of access rules is displayed.
  7. Click the "down arrow" next to the access rule whose details you want to get.
    Alternatively, click Manage request control to display the Manage request control dialog box. Click the "down arrow" next to the access rule whose details you want to get.

The details for the request control access rule you selected are displayed, including conditions and action information.
