Automatically Replacing Cluster Nodes

• 1. Open the navigation menu and click Analytics & AI. Under Data Lake, click Big Data Service.
  2. Under Compartment, select the compartment that contains the cluster.
  3. In the list of clusters, click the name of the cluster.
  4. On the Cluster details page, under Resources, click Replace node configurations.
  5. Click Create replace node configuration.
  6. Enter the Replace node configuration name.
  7. Select the Level type.
  8. (Optional) If you select Node type level in the Node level field, the Node type field is displayed. Select Master and Utility from the dropdown list.
  9. Select the Host name.
  10. Select the Metric type. The options available include:
      • Instance status
      • Instance accessibility status
  11. To set the number of minutes to wait before triggering automatic replacement, enter the Duration in minutes.
  12. Enter the Cluster admin password.
  13. Click Submit.

      If you replace an active Ambari node (un0), the Ambari node is moved to a standby node (UN1).

  14. After node replacement is successful, sign in to Ambari and verify the health of services. Then, restart the services that are flagged for stale configuration.

• Use the create-node-replace-configuration command and required parameters to automatically replace cluster nodes.
