Billing

Learn about the billing details for the OCI Database with PostgreSQL service.

The billing of a database system starts at the end of the CREATING state, and is billed during the ACTIVE, UPDATING, and DELETING states. If you delete a database system, the billing stops at the end of the DELETING state. You're not billed when the database system is in the INACTIVE, DELETED, or FAILED state.

OCI Database with PostgreSQL billing includes the following:

  • Compute cost based on the shape
  • Storage cost
  • Volume performance unit cost
  • Related OCI Database with PostgreSQL fees

Storage

Dynamically scaling storage is adjusted based on how the databases manages tables. New space is allocated when new tables get created. When the tables are dropped or when the database frees up space, the space is released back to the block store. This ensures that you don't need to over-provision storage to address future growth. You only pay for what you use, instead of what you provisioned.
