Creating an Instance

Create an instance in Resource Analytics.

  • Ensure that the security list rule is added in the private endpoints section.
    1. Sign in to Resource Analytics. If you need help finding the home page, see Listing Instances.
    2. To create an instance, select Create.
    3. Enter a Name for the instance.
      The service host tenancy is automatically added to the list of tenancies.
    4. (Optional) Give the instance a Description.
    5. (Optional) Enter a compartment name. The one you selected when signing in to Resource Analytics is selected by default.
    6. (Optional) To see the services covered by Resource Analytics, select View list.
    7. (Optional) By default, you can monitor on the host tenancy only. To add more tenancies, select Add tenancies.
      The Add tenancies page is displayed.
      1. Add the tenancies:
        • To add no more than a few tenancies:
          1. Enter the Tenancy OCID.
          2. Enter a Description.
          3. (Optional) To add another tenancy, select Add row.
        • To add lots of tenancies, upload a CSV file with their details. For help, download the sample template.
          • Drag the CSV file to Drop your file here or select Select your file to select it from the file directory.
      2. Select Save.
      Ensure that the appropriate policies are in place for the remote tenancies. For more information, see Create Policies for Remote Monitored Tenancies.
    8. Select the regions you want to collect data from.
      Under Subscribed Regions - Confirm Data Collection is a list of the subscribed regions. All are selected. Clear the checkbox for any you don't want to collect data from.
      Note

      The host tenancy must be subscribed to all the regions that any other tenancies added in the previous step are subscribed to. For more information on subscribing to regions, see the IAM documentation.
    9. Create a password for the administration user for ADW provisioned by Resource Analytics or use Vault.
      • To enter a password, select Input password:
        1. Enter the password in Password.
        2. Enter it again in Confirm password.
      • To use Vault, select Use OCI Vault:
        1. Select the compartment containing the vault.
        2. Select the vault.
        3. Select the secret.
    10. Under Autonomous Data Warehouse - Network & Settings, select the virtual cloud network and subnet to use:
      1. Select the compartment containing the VCN.
      2. Select the VCN.
      3. Select the compartment containing the subnet.
      4. Select the subnet.
      5. (Optional) Toggle to use network security groups.
        1. Select a NSG from the list.
        2. Select Add NSG.
        3. (Optional) Repeat steps i and ii to add up to four more NSGs.
      6. (Optional) Toggle to require mutual TLS authentication.
      7. (Optional) Toggle to bring your own license.
    11. (Optional) To use OAC, select Provision a new OAC instance, with 2 OCPUs.
      Important

      Use of OAC is chargeable.
      1. Select the compartment containing the IDSC domain.
      2. Select the IDCS domain.
      3. Select Public or Private access to OAC.
      4. (Optional) Toggle to use network security groups.
        1. Select a NSG from the list.
        2. Select Add NSG.
        3. (Optional) Repeat steps i and ii to add up to four more NSGs.
      5. (Optional) Toggle to bring your own license.

    12. (Optional) Add tags:
      1. (Optional) Select a Tag namespace from the list.
      2. Enter a Tag key.
      3. Enter a Tag value.
      4. Select Add tag.
      5. (Optional) Repeat the previous four steps to add another tag.
    13. Select Create.
  • Use the resource-analytics-instance command and required parameters to create an instance:

    oci resource-analytics resource-analytics-instance create [OPTIONS]
