Configuring Managed Instances

Managed instances are configured using JMS plug-ins. JMS plug-ins allows the agents to interact with data sources (hosts) and send the data back to the cloud service.

Types of JMS plug-ins

There are three types of JMS plug-ins that are used to enable specific features:
  • Basic features are delivered through Java usage tracker (JUT) plug-in.
  • Following Advanced features are delivered through Java Management Service (JMS) plug-in:
    • Java runtime lifecycle management
    • Advanced usage tracker
    • Crypto event analysis
    • JDK flight recorder
    • Performance analysis
  • Migration analysis is delivered through a Dynamic plug-in. If the plug-in is not present in the managed instance, it is downloaded by the agent when the work request is submitted to the agent in the managed instance.
