Configuring Managed Instances
Managed instances are configured using JMS plug-ins. JMS plug-ins allows the agents to interact with data sources (hosts) and send the data back to the cloud service.
Types of JMS plug-ins
There are three types of JMS plug-ins that are used to enable specific
features:
- Basic features are delivered through Java usage tracker (JUT) plug-in.
- Following Advanced features are delivered through Java Management
Service (JMS) plug-in:
- Java runtime lifecycle management
- Advanced usage tracker
- Crypto event analysis
- JDK flight recorder
- Performance analysis
- Migration analysis is delivered through a Dynamic plug-in. If the plug-in is not present in the managed instance, it is downloaded by the agent when the work request is submitted to the agent in the managed instance.
JMS plug-ins are provided by:
- Oracle Cloud Agent (OCA): to monitor OCI Oracle Linux compute instances that are in the same tenancy and region.
- Oracle Management Agent (OMA): to monitor all other hosts.
