Oracle Linux Image

The Oracle Linux platform image is based on Oracle Linux and is used to create Oracle Linux instances.

This platform image is released regularly to provide important and timely security and critical bug fixes that can be installed on your compute instances. In addition, the Oracle Linux platform image includes Oracle Ksplice preinstalled. Oracle Ksplice applies critical security patches to Linux kernels on your instances without requiring a reboot. When you choose the Oracle Linux platform image during instance creation, Oracle Linux repositories, or yum channels, are automatically enabled on the newly created instance:
