HeatWave introduces real-time resizing that allows you to resize the HeatWave cluster to any cluster size with no downtime and service disruption.

During resize, queries will continue to run in HeatWave. Data is loaded from the HeatWave storage layer to new nodes for a size up, or to the remaining nodes for a size down. Once the data is reloaded, data is balanced across all nodes, and any new queries will be run in the new cluster size.
