MySQL Database Service now uses rolling upgrades for maintenance of High Availability DB Systems. If you already have HA enabled in your DB Systems, no action is necessary. The service automatically patches secondary instances and then switches the primary, minimizing disruptions and downtime. For more information, see Rolling Upgrades.
