OpenSearch cluster endpoint domain changed to

The endpoints for OpenSearch clusters created on or after September 15th, 2022 use the domain instead of the domain. The domain uses a publicly available certificate, which eliminates the requirement to download a private certificate to use when connecting to your cluster using the API endpoint. When accessing the cluster via the private IP, use the insecure mode that does not require a certificate. For example, when using Curl with the private IP, use the -k or the --insecure command line option.
If you have an existing cluster you connect to with domain, and you want to migrate so that it uses the domain, see Migrating Existing Clusters to Remove Certificate Download Requirement.
