Resource locking for File Storage
- Services: File Storage
- Release Date: October 23, 2024
You can now add or remove resource locks for File Storage resources such as file systems, mount targets, exports, outbound connectors, replications, snapshots, and snapshot policies.
Resource locking provides a consistent and standard way of protecting resources against tampering. Locks can prevent updates, moves, and deletions of the resource, but locks on a file system resource don't prevent authorized users from changing the contents of the file system. Users can still create, change, and delete files on a file system with a resource lock. The user who places a lock is the lock owner. Any authorized user with lock privilege or global manage permission of the tenancy has the authorization to create and remove any lock in the tenancy.
