Pre-General Availability Draft Documentation Notice

There are three types of patching for WebLogic domains:
- Operating system
- JDK patching
- WebLogic Server domain middleware patching
WebLogic Management can apply middleware patches to the whole domain at once. This means every server in the domain gets patched instead of having to patch servers one at a time. Patch inventory is maintained and kept up-to-date by the service WebLogic Management.
Patching is not enabled by default. When you configure patching for a domain, you can enable it, allow rollbacks if a failure occurs, and set a server shutdown timeout. And, you must also accept the terms and conditions of use for WebLogic Management. See Configuring Patching and Server Control and Accepting Terms of Use Agreement.
