Usage Statements

Use the Usage Statements page to view statements which are generated monthly and show your subscription usage.

Note

Invoices on the Invoices page differ from usage statements on the Usage Statements page, because taxes aren't included in usage statements, and the usage period might not match.

Monthly usage statements show usage for the previous calendar month, and are available in XLSX format. The statements are only available from a parent tenancy.

Usage statement generation starts on the second day of every month, and so some customers might see their statements on the second, but no later than the third day of every month.

If a usage statement needs to be updated because of delayed usage, costs, or other changes, a new usage statement will be generated for that month. Furthermore, usage statements for a particular month aren't generated for subscriptions that don't have any usage for the month.

On the Usage Statements page, you can filter by the subscription and usage period, and you can also specify the email addresses of the users that are authorized to view usage statements.

Using the Console

To view usage statements:

  1. Open the navigation menu and click Billing & Cost Management. Under Billing, click Usage Statements.
  2. You can filter the displayed usage statements by using the Subscription and Usage period fields:
    • Subscription: Filter by the subscription ID. By default, all subscriptions are shown.
    • Usage period: All (the default), Last 3 months, Last 6 months, Last 1 Year.
  3. Usage statements are listed in the table by File name, Format, Subscription, Usage period (UTC), and Published date (UTC).

Under File name, click the usage statement name to download statements.

Statements show the plan number, subscription ID, account type (for example, Pay As You Go), usage period, and total contract value. The statements list active commitments and usage for the parent tenant by product SKU. Active commitments show the commitment ID, total value, starting/ending balance in the usage period, and the start/end date. The parent tenant usage table lists the product SKU, usage metric, unit cost, quantity, expected usage, overage, and the net amount.

  4. Click Add email recipient to specify the email addresses of users that are authorized to view the usage statements. The Add email recipient button changes to Edit email recipients after email addresses have been added.

In the Edit email recipients panel, enter the email address in the field, and click + Another Email to add more users. A maximum of five recipients can be added.

Click Save. A notification is displayed that the email recipients were successfully updated.
