Working with Big Data Service Components

You can work with Hadoop components in Big Data Service clusters using either Apache Ambari or Cloudera Manager.

• Use Apache Ambari if you created your Big Data Service cluster with Oracle Distribution including Apache Hadoop (ODH).
• Use Cloudera Manager if you created your Big Data Service cluster with Cloudera Distribution including Hadoop (CDH).

The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Load Balancer service provides automated traffic distribution from one entry point to multiple backend servers. You can use a load balancer with Big Data Service to provide the entry point for accessing services such as Apache Ambari, Cloudera Manager, Hue, and Big Data Studio (the Big Data Service notebook application). You can use it for both the CDH and ODH Big Data Service clusters.
