Set Up Synthetic Monitoring

Here’s the typical workflow of the tasks that must be performed before you use Synthetic Monitoring.

Obtain the required Application Performance Monitoring and Monitoring service permissions.	See Create Policies
Create an APM domain.	See Create an APM Domain
Create a script. Note: You must create a script only for the Scripted Browser and Scripted REST monitor types.	See Create a Script
Optionally, set up a Dedicated Vantage Point. Note: You can run a monitor on Public or Dedicated Vantage Points. Public Vantage Points are a set of pre-configured locations around the globe. However, if you want to run your monitor from a secure location in your tenancy, you must set up a Dedicated Vantage Point.	See Use Dedicated Vantage Points
Optionally, set up an On-Premise Vantage Point. Note: You can run a monitor on premises. If you want to run your monitor from a secure location on your premise, you must set up an On-Premise Vantage Point.	See Use On-Premise Vantage Points
