Assigning Filename Patterns to Data Assets

Assign filename patterns to an Object Storage data asset.

    1. On the Home tab of the instance for which you want to assign filename pattern, click Data Assets.
    2. On the Data Assets page, select the Object Storage data asset for which you want to assign filename patterns.
    3. In the Summary tab of the data asset details page, under Filename Patterns section, click Assign Filename Patterns.
      Note

In the Assign Filename Patterns panel, you can click the Filename Patterns button to open the Filename Patterns page. On this page you can create a filename pattern. For more information, see Creating a Filename Pattern.
    4. In the Assign Filename Patterns panel, select the filename patterns that you want to assign to this data asset. You can use the filter box to filter the filename patterns by name. You can also clear the already assigned filename patterns to unassign them from this data asset.
    5. Click Assign.
The selected filename patterns are assigned to the data asset. When you harvest the data asset, these filename patterns are used to derive logical data entities. The names of the files in the Object Storage bucket are matched to the pattern expression and logical data entities are formed.
    Note

When you assign a new filename pattern to a data asset, the status of any harvested logical data entities is set to Inactive. You need to harvest the data asset again to derive valid logical data entities again.
