Monitor Listeners
You can monitor the listeners for connectivity issues in an External Database System on the External listener details page.
Using Database Management, you can monitor local listeners, SCAN listeners, and ASM Net listeners. For information on listeners, see Oracle Database documentation.
To go to the External listener details page:
- Go to the Database System details page.
- In the Listener section, click the display name of
the listener.
The External listener details page is displayed.
On the External listener details page, you can:
- Click Add tags to add tags to the listener. For information, see Working with Resource Tags.
- View Listener information, which includes details such as the OCID of the listener, the associated External Database System, connector details, and listener type. In the Listener information section, you can also perform tasks such as going to the associated Database System details page, changing a connector, and monitoring the total number of open alarms and the number of alarms by severity, for the listener.
- Click the Tags tab to add, view, edit, or remove tags. For information, see Working with Resource Tags.
- Monitor the listener in the Summary section for
the time period selected in the Time period drop-down
list.
- Monitoring status timeline: Monitor the status of the listener during the selected period of time.
- Connections (per minute): Monitor the number of connections per minute during the selected period of time. This chart displays the maximum number of connections and the number of established, refused, and active connections. This chart helps determine if the performance issues with the database or other services supported by the listener are caused by an excessive load on the listener or host.
- Serviced databases or Serviced ASM: Monitor the status of the databases or ASM instances supported by the listener, and click the display name to go to the corresponding details page.
- Click Work requests on the left pane under Resources to monitor the work requests pertaining to the listener.
