Auto-enable Hosts for the Service
Auto-enable allows Ops Insights to automatically add new compute instances whenever they are added into a host or tenancy. Auto-enable will also listen for deletion events and remove instances when deleted.
Turn ON Auto-enable
To allow Auto-enable to automatically add compute instances added into a host or tenancy, navigate to the Host Fleet Administration page by clicking on the left hand menu: Ops Insights then Administration and lastly Host fleet.
Under Scope in the left hand menu select the compartment or tenancy you wish to configure for Auto-enable.
- Verify the compartment or tenancy selected is correct, if not close the pop up and select the correct compartment or tenancy.
Note
Enabling Auto-enable for tenancy will enable it for all child compartments within the tenancy as well. - Checkmark the Automatically enable Ops Insights for newly provisioned instances in this compartment option.
Compute instances that are terminated will be automatically disabled in Ops Insights when Auto-enable is on.
Turn OFF Auto-Enable
To turn off Auto-enable, navigate to the Host Fleet Administration page by clicking on the left hand menu: Ops Insights then Administration and lastly Host fleet.
Under Scope in the left hand menu select the compartment or tenancy you wish to disable Auto-enable for.
- Verify the compartment or tenancy selected is correct, if not close the popup and select the correct compartment or tenancy.
Note
Disabling Auto-enable for tenancy will disable it for all child compartments within the tenancy as well. - Un-check the Automatically enable Ops Insights for newly provisioned instances in this compartment option.
Compute instances that were enabled during Auto-enable, will not be disabled once Auto-enable is turned off.
