Explore Ops Insights Using Demo Mode
Use demo mode to explore Ops Insights functionality immediately without having to configure a monitored environment. When demo mode is enabled, Ops Insights is populated with curated data that lets you explore its various resource monitoring and analysis capabilities without having to create a comprehensive, resource-rich environment.
To enable demo mode, navigate to the Ops Insights Overview page and click Enable demo mode.
- Run on your tenancy: In this option demo mode uses a dedicated read-only tenancy and requires your tenancy administrator to set up the requisite demo policy and region subscription. Ops Insights provides an easy-to-use UI to implement these prerequisites if they have not been met. The tenancy must also subscribe to the UK South (London) region.
When first creating the policies, it may take approximately 1 minute for the policies to take effect. So when exiting the dialog you may see an error banner the first time.
- Run on LiveLabs Sandbox: In this option, any user with an Oracle SSO account can run the demo mode on the LiveLabs Sandbox. These resources will be provided in an Oracle-owned tenancy for you to use. Access to the resources will be granted temporarily.
Once you have selected this option, the LiveLabs Sandbox page displays. Click Start to begin.

When Demo Mode data is enabled, specific control functionality, such as the ability to add database/host resources or select compartments is deactivated.
- SQL Insights - Fleet analysis: This demo dashboard allows for a general overview of the entire set of demo databases enabled for Ops Insights within the selected compartment.
- SQL Insights - Database analysis: This demo dashboard is designed to give a broad overview of the SQL workload executing in the database.
- SQL Insights - SQL analysis: This demo dashboard provides insights and performance history for a specific SQL observed on a specific demo database.
- Capacity dashboard: This demo dashboard provides a fleet-wide view of top utilized databases, hosts, and Exadata Systems for Ops Insights demo environment.
- Collection issues: This demo dashboard provides an overview of metric collection issues (metrics delayed for over 48 hours) for databases, hosts, and Exadata systems enabled for Ops Insights demo environment.
- Configuration dashboard: This demo dashboard provides a fleet-wide view of configurations across the Ops Insights enabled demo resource including databases, hosts, and Exadata systems.
- Database performance: This demo dashboard provides performance insights and ADDM insights for all Ops Insights enabled demo databases.
- MySQL DB system: This demo dashboard provides summary of any demo MySQL DB systems enabled.
- MySQL DB system fleet: This demo dashboard provides summary of all MySQL DB systems enabled for demo.
To disable Demo Mode, navigate to the Overview page and click Disable Demo Mode. You will be returned to your original tenancy, and all Ops Insights control functions will be reactivated. Alternatively, you can click the Disable button in the red banner that appears at the top-right of any page while Demo Mode is enabled
