Viewing the Security Updates Report

View the security updates report in OS Management Hub. This report indicates whether the instances are up-to-date on security patches and provides details about associated security advisories.

    1. Open the navigation menu and click Observability & Management. Under OS Management Hub, click Reports.
    2. Under List scope, choose a compartment that contains the instances you're interested in.
    3. Click the Security updates report.
    4. (Optional) Under Filters, select one or more of the following options to refine the report:
      • Up-to-date: Lists only the instances that are up-to-date on security updates.
      • Updates available: Lists only the instances that have security updates available.
      • Operating systems: Lists only the instances with the specified OS.
      • Location: Lists only the instances with the specified location.
    5. Expand the rows in the table to view details about associated advisories.
    6. Click Download report to download the full report in CSV, JSON, or XML format.
    7. (Optional) Select instances and click Apply updates.
      Important

      If an instance is a member of a group or assigned to a lifecycle environment, you can't change its contents directly. Instead, manage its content through its associated group or lifecycle environment.

  • Use the oci os-management-hub managed-instance summarize-analytics command and required parameters to return metrics for a compartment of managed instances.

    oci os-management-hub managed-instance summarize-analytics --compartment-id ocid --metric-names  INSTANCE_WITH_AVAILABLE_SECURITY_UPDATES_COUNT [OPTIONS]

  • Run the SummarizeManagedInstanceAnalytics operation to return metrics for a collection of managed instances.
