The soft stop power action (ACPI shutdown and power on) is now available for instance pools and schedule-based autoscaling. Softstop sends a shutdown command to the operating system before powering off the instance. For more information, see Stopping and Starting the Instances in an Instance Pool and Autoscaling.

For instance configurations, more of the settings that are available when you create a compute instance are now available when you create an instance configuration. Settings include volume encryption with a key that you manage and live migration preferences. For more information, see Creating Instance Configurations.
