This chapter tells you how to set up Oracle Visual Builder Studio (VB Studio) so your users can work with Oracle Cloud Applications in an extension.

An extension is what your team members use to deliver new capabilities into Oracle Cloud Applications. In most cases, an extension contains the work a user has done to customize an app to meet specific business needs. See What Is an Extension? to learn more.

While this chapter explains everything you need to set up VB Studio for use by others, there are only a handful of activities that MUST be done before a user tries to use VB Studio. Those activities are described in Essential Set-up Tasks. After you have completed these steps, users need only click the Edit Page in Visual Builder Studio button in their Oracle Cloud Application, and VB Studio will guide them through the necessary steps so they can begin their work. Of course, there are a few other activities that you may want to perform after completing the essential tasks. Those activities are described in Advanced Administrator Tasks, but they are purely optional.
