Remote Agent Appliance Diagnostic messages

The remote agent appliance on the VM console displays messages that can help you identify issues such as agent registration fails in OCI or an agent connected to OCI not functioning properly.

Here's a list of messages that can appear on the remote agent appliance. For information about built-in diagnostics, see Diagnosing Remote Agent Appliance Network Connectivity.

Appliance failed to acquire primary IP

The external interface of the remote agent appliance VM is not configured properly. Either no DHCP lease has been acquired or no static IP configuration is provided.

Appliance has not yet successfully connected to OCI

The registration attempt failed and a connection could not be established with OCI. A network configuration issue such as a DNS lookup failure or an interrupted registration process might have occurred.

Remedy: Review the diagnostic messages to diagnose the network configuration issue. After the networking configurations are updated, the appliance attempts a connection to OCI until the date indicated, before failing permanently. A remote agent appliance with a Creating status in the OCI console can indicate an interrupted registration process. In some cases, you must reset or deploy a new appliance, and attempt the registration again
