Managing Data Sources for Generative AI Agents
A data source points to the source of data. After you add a data source to a knowledge base, you must ingest the data source's data, so agents using the knowledge base can reach that data.
In Generative AI Agents service, by data source, we mean the service-manged OCI Object Storage files that an agent's RAG tool can reference. See Limits and Limitations for Generative AI Agents for the number, type, and size of files allowed for data sources.
The following data types can be used for RAG tools, but aren't called data sources:
- Oracle Database AI vector search
- OCI Search with OpenSearch ingested and indexed data
