Updating a Data Source in Generative AI Agents

On the Knowledge Bases list page, select the knowledge base that you want to update its data source.
If you need help finding the list page, see Listing Knowledge Bases.
Select the name of the data source that you want to update.
Select Edit.
Update the data source name or description.
Enable or disable multi-modal parsing. Enable multi-modal parsing when the data sources include charts and diagrams with information for the agent.
Select another bucket for this data source.
Add or remove the files of this data source.
Select Save changes.
(Optional) Select Add tags to add tags to this data source. Then, select the Tags tab to view and manage the defined and free-form tags for this data source.

When you add, delete, or update the files in an Object Storage bucket, you can perform one of the following actions:

Edit the data source, as mentioned in this task and select the files to update. After you save the data source, Generative AI Agents automatically triggers an ingestion job. This includes adding or deleting files.

If you don't update the data source, then you can manually create an ingestion job to update the data source. After you create the ingestion job, ensure that you review the status logs to see if all the updated files were ingested.
