Updating the Hostname of a DB System

You can update the hostname of a DB system. The hostname combined with the subnet and VCN DNS labels determines the fully qualified domain name of the DB system.

Using the Console

You can update the hostname using the Update hostname console action for the DB system.

This task requires the following:
  • The subnet to which the DB system is attached have a DNS label.
  • You have MYSQL_INSTANCE_UPDATE and PRIVATE_IP_UPDATE IAM permissions.

Do the following to update the hostname of a DB system:

  1. Open the navigation menu, and select Databases, and under HeatWave MySQL, select DB systems.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Click the Actions menu present on the same line as your DB system, and click Update hostname.
    • Click the name of the DB system to open the DB system details page. Click More actions present at the top of the page, and click Update hostname.
  3. In the Update hostname dialog box, enter the new hostname.
  4. Click Update.
