Creating a Migration Project

In Oracle Cloud Migrations, create a migration project to logically group and manage all migration assets and migration plans.

You can create migration projects in one of the following two ways:

Create a simple migration project. See Creating a Simple Migration Project
Use a wizard to create a migration project with initial migration plan. See Creating a Migration Project with Initial Migration Plan.

Creating a Simple Migration Project

Create a migration project and configure replication schedules, create migration assets, and create migration plans later.

Open the navigation menu and click Migration & Disaster Recovery. Under Cloud Migrations, click Migrations.
On the Migrations page, click Create migration project.
In the Create migration dialog box, select Create a simple migration project, and then click Create migration project.
In the Create migration panel, provide the following details:
- Enter a display name. For example, vSphere6.5Migration
- Select the compartment where you want to create the migration project.
- (Optional) Add tags to organize your resource. To apply a defined tag, you must have permissions to use the tag namespace. For more information about tagging, see Resource Tags. If you are not sure whether to apply tags, skip this option (you can apply tags later) or ask your administrator.
Click Create.
