Customizing Log Rotation

You can customize the Big Data Service log rotation.

Note

Oozie job, job error, and job audit logs are rotated and retained for 10 days, instead of default 30 days.
  1. Access Apache Ambari.
  2. From the side toolbar, under Services click ODH Utilities.
  3. Click the Configs tab, and then select LOG SIZE CONFIG .
  4. Update required configurations values.
    Configuration Default Details
    Log: backup file size 100 MB Maximum file size for all components logs
    Log: No of backup files 10 Maximum number of files retained after rotation for all component service logs
    GC Log: backup file size 100 MB Maximum file size for all component .gc logs
    GC Log: No of backup files 10 Maximum number of files retained after rotation for components .gc logs
    Out/Err file: backup file size 100 MB Maximum file size for components out and error log
    Out/Err Files: No of backup files 10 Maximum number of files retained after rotation for components out and error logs
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click the Services '...' icon, and then click Restart all required.
