Editing a User's Permission for a Base Schema Attribute

In addition to creating, editing, or deleting custom schema attributes for the user schema in IAM, you might want to change permissions for a attribute for this schema.

For example, to maximize the real estate of the Details tab of the Users page of the Console, you might want to hide base attributes that your subscribers don't use. You can also protect the values associated with some base attributes so that they're not changed inadvertently.

  1. Open the navigation menu and click Identity & Security. Under Identity, click Domains.
  2. Click the name of the identity domain that you want to work in. You might need to change the compartment to find the domain that you want.
  3. On the domain details page, click Settings.
  4. On the Settings page, click Schema management.
  5. Click User attributes.
  6. In the Filter attribute field, select Base.
  7. Click the Actions menu (Actions Menu) of the base attribute for which you want to change user permissions, then click Edit attribute.
  8. From the End-user permissions field, select the permission that you want to set for this attribute. For more information about these fields, see Creating a Custom Schema Attribute.
  9. Click Save changes.
