You cannot access the workshop in ONSR (Oracle National Security Realms) regions.
Before you get started, create the required data catalog policies to use Data Catalog successfully.
Before You Begin
To create user groups and access policies, you must have:
An Oracle Cloud Infrastructure account with administrator privileges
At least one user in your tenancy who wants to work with Data Catalog. This user must be created in the IAM service.
Create an Admin User Group 🔗
To grant permissions to a user, you must place the user in one or more groups and
create at least one policy to give that group permission to either the tenancy or
compartment.
Follow the steps to create a user group and add users to this group:
Open the navigation menu and select Identity & Security. Under Identity, select Domains.
In the Groups page, click Create
Group.
In the Create Group panel, provide the following information:

Name
Enter a unique name for the group. The name must be unique across all groups in your tenancy. You can't change the name later. The name must be 1–100 characters long and can include the following characters: lowercase letters a-z, uppercase letters A-Z, 0–9, and the period (.), dash (-), and underscore (_). Spaces aren't allowed. For example, data-catalog-admins.
Avoid entering confidential information.
Description
Enter a friendly description. For example, Group of data catalog admin users. You can change the description later.
Show Advanced Options
Click this link to view the advanced options. The available option is:
Tags: If you have permissions to create a resource, then you also have permissions to apply free-form tags to that resource. To apply a defined tag, you must have permissions to use the tag namespace. If you're not sure whether to apply tags, skip this option (you can apply tags later) or ask your administrator.
Click Create.

To add a user to the group, follow these steps:
On the Groups page, click the group that you created.
In the Group Details page, click Add User to Group.
In the Add User to Group dialog box, select the user that you want to add, and then click Add.

Using the Console's Data Catalog Overview Page 🔗
When you log on to Data Catalog and click Overview, you're presented with the Data Catalog Overview page.
The overview page provides you information about the Data Catalog capabilities, enables you to get started with the service, and points you to the available resources that help you to use Data Catalog efficiently.
