Removing Agent Software

Note

Removing the agent or removing the plugin will not remove Java Usage Tracker, and it will continue to log usage events. This action is optional, depending on your business needs.
  1. Review the usagetracker.properties file. See Enabling and Configuring Java Usage Tracker. The usagetracker.properties file points to the Java Usage Tracker log.
  2. Remove the usagetracker.properties file and the Java Usage Tracker log.

Uninstall Using Oracle Management Agent Software Installer

If you installed Oracle Management Agent Using Oracle Management Agent Software Installer from the Download Oracle Management Agent Software Installer with Requisite Software section, the compressed folder also contains an uninstallation script. Navigate to the folder to which the compressed folder was extracted and do the following:

Review the JMS-configuration.rsp file before running the uninstaller, and ensure that the diagnostic flag is set to false. If it's set to true, the diagnostics will run without uninstalling the Oracle Management Agent software. See Configuration Parameters for details.
  • On Linux: execute ./uninstaller.sh as a root user.
  • On Windows: execute .\uninstaller.ps1 in Powershell as administrator.
  • On macOS: execute ./uninstaller.sh as a root user.

Other Uninstallation options

Oracle Management Agent

If you no longer want to use OMA, or if you have encountered the error message Please uninstall the agent and remove the service file before installing the new agent!, remove the agent by following the procedure described in Remove Management Agents.

You can remove just the plug-in instead of removing the entire software. Access the agent page as described in Deploy a Service Plug-in Using the Agents Page, select the plug-in and uncheck to remove the plug-in.

Oracle Cloud Agent

To uninstall OCA, see Uninstalling the Oracle Cloud Agent Software. However, if you want to remove just the plug-in, follow the process detailed in Disable a plug-in.
