Providing External Source Environment Credentials
Oracle Cloud Migrations stores credentials used to access external source environments as a secret in a Vault as part of the Vault service.
Access to the Vault and secrets used during a migration is provided to the necessary service component using IAM policies. Depending on the source environment type, a different service component might need access to the secret. Access details for each source environment are described below. We recommend creating a new compartment and a new Vault for storing external source environment credentials. Also, the Vault used to store migration related credentials should not be used to store any other types of secrets. See Recommendations for Working with Compartments.
As with all credentials, any credentials provided for migration purposes should grant the least privilege required to perform the migration and should be revoked as soon as a migration is complete.
