Editing a Filename Pattern

Modify a filename pattern and assign it to a data asset.

    1. On the Home tab of the instance for which you want to edit a filename pattern, from the Quick actions section, click Manage filename patterns.
    2. On the Filename Patterns page, click the filename pattern that you want to modify.
    3. On the filename pattern details page, click Edit.
    4. In the Edit Filename Pattern panel, update the details as required. If you edit the expression, ensure that you test it.
      Note

When you modify a filename pattern expression, the status of any harvested logical data entities is set to Inactive. You need to harvest the associated data asset again to derive valid logical data entities again.
    5. Click Save changes.
Your filename pattern is successfully updated. You can now assign this pattern to a data asset. During harvest, these patterns are used to derive logical data entities.
