Deploy Management Agents on Compute Instances

When you are using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) compute instances, also known as hosts or VMs, you can deploy Management Agents on compute instances using the Oracle Cloud Agent, a lightweight process that manages plugins running on compute instances.

The Oracle Cloud Agent allows to enable the Management Agent plugin on the compute instance.

For information about Oracle Cloud Agent on compute instances, see Managing Plugins with Oracle Cloud Agent in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute documentation.

For information about Management Agents, see Introduction.

Note

Enabling Management Agent from the OCI Compute Instances is supported only on Linux images, except for Oracle Linux on ARM. For any other OS images, follow the instructions for standalone Management Agents. For details, see Install Management Agents.

If you have compute instances with images other than Linux, the Management Agent won't be available on the OCI Compute pages.
