Maintenance Start Time Changes
Learn about updates from Oracle to scheduled Fusion Applications Environment maintenance start times.
As part of an ongoing effort to increase uptime and reduce maintenance downtimes for your Fusion Application Cloud Service, Oracle has delivered several maintenance improvements with the last few releases. We expect these improvements to reduce maintenance downtime even further going forward. To provide a consistent and predictable maintenance downtime, we're making a change to the maintenance start time for your Fusion Application Cloud Service, including Quarterly Update, Monthly and Exception maintenance runs.
What Is Changing
Oracle is adding additional maintenance windows for Fusion Applications Maintenance runs. As part of this change, we will be modifying the default maintenance start time of Fusion Application Cloud Service environments.
- For the maintenance region of Europe, currently having the maintenance start time of Friday 21:00 BST/GMT, we are adding one additional window with the following start time:
- Saturday 00:00 BST/GMT
- For the maintenance region of the Americas, currently having the maintenance start time of Friday 21:00 CST/CDT, we are adding three more windows with the following start times:
- Saturday 00:00 CST/CDT
- Saturday 03:00 CST/CDT
- Saturday 06:00 CST/CDT
For Fusion Application Cloud Service environments using one of the new windows, downtime for maintenance of your Fusion Cloud service environments will now start later than it previously started.
After the effective date of the change (specified by Oracle in the email sent to regarding this update):
- Maintenance for environments on a Non-Production cadence will start at one of the above mentioned start times following the first Friday in the month
- Maintenance for environments on a Production cadence will start at one of the above mentioned start times following the third Friday in the month
